Fountain Valley prices
What gutters cost in Fountain Valley
Gutter work is small money that prevents large money. Fascia and soffit repairs cost multiples of what the gutter did.
Tell us about the roof
Up to three local contractors, and never more.
Your request is in.
We are matching it now against roofing contractors working in Fountain Valley and the surrounding area.
- Today, usually within the hour. The first contractor calls or texts the number you gave us. ASAP requests go out first.
- Up to three of them, no more. We cap it at three so you can compare without your phone melting.
- They come and look. Estimates are given after somebody has been on the roof, not over the phone.
- You decide, or you do not. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to pay us.
If you do not hear anything today, check your voicemail and spam folder — contractors often call from a mobile number.
These are estimated ranges, not quotes. Compiled from public installed-cost data for California and adjusted for how Fountain Valley is built. No contractor is bound by them, and nobody can price a roof they have not stood on.
| Item | Typical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Seamless aluminium gutter, per foot | $13 – $27 | Most homes run 160 to 220 feet. |
| Ridge and intake ventilation upgrade | $620 – $2,517 | The cheapest thing you can do to make the next roof last its full life. |
| Skylight replacement, each | $1,253 – $3,772 | Cheaper done during a re-roof than on its own afterwards. |
What moves the price
- Where you land in the season; crews discount when the phone is quiet
- How many old layers have to come off before the new one goes on
- Permit and inspection fees, which vary more between towns than people expect
- The number of penetrations: chimneys, skylights, vents, solar mounts
- Ventilation work, if the old roof was cooking itself from underneath
Locally
Salt carries further inland than people assume. It shows up first as rust tracks on the vents and staining below the valley metal.
Check the fascia before agreeing a price. Hanging new metal off soft wood is a year-long solution.

Questions about price
Should I take the cheapest quote?
Not automatically. Put the quotes side by side on layers, not on totals — underlayment, ice-and-water, drip edge, valley treatment, ventilation, decking allowance, warranty. Cheap usually means less of those, not the same roof for less money.
I have solar panels. What happens to them?
They come off and go back on, and that is a separate cost, often handled by the solar installer rather than the roofer. If the roof is near the end of its life, do the roof first — removing and refitting panels twice is money wasted.
How long should a roof last here?
An architectural asphalt roof is rated for twenty-five to thirty years and, in this climate, tends to land at the lower end of that. Tile and metal go much further, provided what is underneath them is maintained.
